A Christian author who understands what it means to struggle.

Either T.K. has gone through this experience or he has done a lot of research because as I read it, I was right there. A truth that is brought out to Johnathan that was an encouragement to me was when he recognised that Marie did not belong to him but she belonged to the Lord. Thank you T.K. for this book.

How I got started on this path

I was sixteen years old and attending a little Baptist church in Vancouver, WA that went by the name of Amazing Grace. It was here, at a revival, I felt the call placed on my life to preach the Word of God. The problem was I had head knowledge only and I was sixteen years old. So what did I do? I ran.

Years later, after finding every job I obtained less than satisfying after a few months, I discovered I could write books. After failing on my own terms, I went to God. He took what I gave Him and turned it into good and for His glory, just like He has done with my life over and over again. He’s taught me through the stories I write, and He’s still teaching me through the story I’m living today.

The Four Pillars of Life

Mental

The mental aspect to our lives is more important than people often realize. The sleep you get, the exercise you do and the food you eat all have a profound impact on your mental abilities. If you’re lacking sleep, good food or exercise, you’re mental stamina and ability will suffer.

Benjamin’s Daily Habit

Sleep 7-8 hours per night with same bedtime/wakeup routine daily, eat well at least 75% of the day, exercise at least 3-4 times per week.

Spiritual

The spiritual state of most Christians in the church today is at anemic levels. While our bellies are full, our souls are starving to death. Maintaining a healthy spiritual alignment with God helps us more than we often realize.

Benjamin’s Daily Habit

At the start of each day, daily time in the Word of God no matter how long or short it may be, followed by time of prayer.

Physical

As we age, we lose muscle. We also seem to enjoy sitting a lot more in life (or maybe that’s just me!). Staying in decent shape is important for our ability to not only move, but to think, serve, and love others. Also drinking water helps curve a lot of common issues in the human body.

Benjamin’s Daily Habit

Workout 3-4 times per week and drink lots of water.

Relational

Intenional time with the people we care about is crucial if we hope to honor God in all that we do. This means carving out time for conversations and activities that speak directly to that person’s need. As the other pillars work together, they all feed into this one, equipping us to be fully useful to God in our relationships.

Benjamin’s Daily Habit

Investing time, energy and resources to help encourage and connect with the ones who matter most, not the ones who are loudest.
