I loved, loved, loved this book!!! After reading the free Thursday book I was hooked. I read both of these books in one sitting, then proceeded to purchase the rest of the series. I am now onto book three and can’t wait to see how God works in this one. Thank you to God for one leading me to this series and the author and thank you to the fabulous author who was obedient to offer Thursday morning free. What a blessing!!!

Found this book, even though a work of fiction, to be very relevant to today, both in Christian and non-Christian marriages. Everything covered, lack of communication, spousal consideration, or lack thereof, hidden acts, deception and lies will kill any relationship, let alone a marriage. I appreciate how T.K. Chapin told this story not just disclosing marital infidelities but revealing how a marriage can be restored. It was not done easily, as the case would be in real life situations. Rather it took much soul searching on both parts, softening of hearts and wills and the intervention of others to help the restoration process. This book leaves the reader with hope for willing hearts, which is a much needed commodity today.

This is the second book in this series. The series is about going through life’s trials and disappointments, reaching out to God. This series focuses on marriage, this is such a great series on how to put God in your marriage as the head of the marriage. Every couple should have to read this. I would live to think it would change people’s lives and enrich them with so much that they will see the light at the end of a tunnel and its not the train. This particular book in the series deals with infidelity. You can over come all things; with GOD!There is a great story that I recommend to everyone who needs a little lift to get past a rocky spot, or just to strengthen what you already have.

this book is about a marriage about to be dissolved because two people have committed adultery. they left GOD behind & did not keep Christ in the center of their marriage. We are all vulnerable to hurting our spouses & the easy road is to choose someone else to help us get rid of pain. We are especially vulnerable in work situations. This couple learned it is a three way relationship with Christ in the center. they both decided to make changes through Christ & love each other in spite of all that had happened.

Loved this book. Imperfect people in a imperfect work. Anyone who has been married for a while and people seeking a life long marriage need to read this. It reminded me of so many truths I knew long ago…but somewhere became back burner problems that I didn’t cast aside. I needed this book. Looking forward to reading more from this author who touched my soul and reminded me of so many things

Elizabeth and Nathan are going on a week’s vacation at a Bread and Breakfast in the hopes of repairing their marriage. They have been married over 20 years but have fallen away from living for The Lord and putting Him first in their lives. During the week Elizabeth is shocked when Nathan confesses about an affair he had in the past. The owner of the Inn is a Christian and helps lead them back to the Lord. The book shows how life is not easy and everyone has problems but if you let the Lord lead you everyone can be a winner in life.

One Friday Afternoon, written by T.K. Chapin is a story of a marriage that doesn’t have God as the foundation.T.K. Chapin takes the characters of Nathan and Elizabeth and brings them to life on the pages of One Friday Afternoon. Both of them have had issues that caused a great schism in their marriage. They allowed others between them and have now gotten to the point where they both have to face the mistakes they’ve made and make a choice. Will God be the foundation of their marriage or with they allow other people, jobs, and things to take priority in their lives above the Lord. This is a second Christian Romance book in the Diamond Lake Series. Chapin has brought characters back into this story that we met in book one, One Thursday Morning, such as Serenah, Charlie and Miley. We learned a bit more about the characters from book one which was fun to see what had progressed in their lives from that first book. I think it’s a great way to expand their characters when one book is about a specific part of their lives and then bring them into this next book and give us cameos of their activities since then.As always, I enjoy the way that Chapin brings tough situations and topics to the forefront of his Christian Romance books and then shows how God can make a difference in a life when we allow Him.

This is one of my favorite books of 2016. Let me see if I can articulate into words how wonderful, amazing, magnificent and beautiful this story is. It is very rare to find Christian fiction books that deal with troubled marriages. Most books that are written want to tell of the romance before marriage, but never want to show what happens after marriage. Well, this story tells you of the journey of a couple whose marriage has been devastated, ripped to shreds and is barely hanging on by a string. But, I love that the author chose to show the journey of healing, restoration and reconciliation. The words that were written on the pages in this book were anointed. I can remember at one point in the story stopping and shouting “Wow, wow, wow!” It was the following passage when Elizabeth asked “Do you think divorce could ever be the answer? I know you’re younger than me, but I’m just kind of curious what you think”. My eyes trained on Serenah as I waited for a response. ““God never designed divorce only marriage. Though he allows it, that was only due to humanity’s sin”””. She paused and looked at me. ““The Bible tells us to focus on the good. Right? Whatever is pure, whatever is of good report. Think on these things. Forget divorce and think about restoration . . . if you can””.This book is full of honest, raw and truthful emotions that couples experience when they are struggling in their marriage. T.K. Chapin does not sugarcoat or give easy pat answers to marital problems. He shows there is hope for your marriage if you are willing to trust, lean on and rely on God.

First of all, I recommend this book to every married couple including non Christians. God is just waiting for you to let him in. I have been married for almost 10 years now, and it feels like I have been going through trial and trial after TRIAL. I hit rock bottom after I had a miscarriage at 17.5 weeks pregnant. Anyone who has ever had a miscarriage understands what that does to your body and soul. I never blamed God for my miscarriage, but I didn’t seek his comfort either. I was going to doctor appointment after doctor appointment because I felt something was wrong. Two years later, as all my doctors have assured me it is depression and anxiety. I know that God has a purpose for every thing that occurs in our life. However, many of us assume that God is responsible for everything. We were given free will, and as soon as sin entered the world, destruction would take place. Jesus says that life here on Earth would not be easy, and I agree with him 100%. God does not want harm to come to any of his sons and/or daughters. God loves us so much that he gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, over to man to be crucified, so that we may enter Heaven. Jesus Christ is our redeemer because without him none of us would enter Heaven except the children. We are all sinners whether we accept it or not.Every marriage has weaknesses and strengths. Elizabeth Collins and her husband Nathan go on a week retreat at the Inn at the Lake. This retreat is Elizabeth’s final attempt to reconcile her marriage. They both have strayed from their marriage, Elizabeth emotionally, and Nathan physically. However, when they get there Nathan is more interested in the game that is on the television than he is about spending time with his wife. As soon as he found out that Elizabeth seeked guidance from Serenah, who they both don’t know, he gets very mad. However, one event causes Nathan to realize that he is still very much in love with his wife, but is his affair the end of their marriage? He asks Elizabeth to give him a month to work on their marriage, and if she wants a divorce he won’t contest it. She reluctantly agrees. According to the Bible, Elizabeth can get out of the marriage because of her husband’s infidelity. She has more to think about than just divorce, her children and her own heart. She does not know if divorce is the right answer. Many people would file for divorce as soon as they got home. As with everything, we are suppose to give our anxiety over to God, so that He can lead the way. That is exactly what is done her.I love Serenah, Before Elizabeth left Serenah gave her a scripture 1 Peter 5:7. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. This has become my new favorite scripture. Life would be so much easier if we did what God asked us to do.This book had me turning page after page to see what was going to happen! I love the storyline, but my favorite part of this book is the scripture and biblical explanations that T.K. Chapin brilliantly incorpates into his books. This book is an eye opener to me, and I hope it is to you as well. In marriage after time has passed we become stuck in the same daily routine, and before we know it we are just existing, and not living. I am guilty of this too, but my eyes have been opened, and I thank you. This book has many different topics or elements that are occurring in my marriage, and it is nice to see their is a way back to where we once were. When people marry today, they know that if it does not work out the way they expect it to than they can get divorced. God created marriage for the purpose of populating the Earth. He gave us strong desires and pleasures that come with marriage, which also gives us desires when our life is not working out the way we envisioned. A marriage is not just between two people. It is between God, Husband and wife, and if you use marriage as God intended, you become one soul, not two! God must be the focal point of your marriage or you are likely to fail because without God’s love, mercy and grace, many factors will try to tear down the walls within your marriage. He is the cement that holds us together! This was an amazing book. I did not read them in order, so I am off to read book 1, and am looking forward to book 3. Keep up the great work! I feel privileged to see your career take off as an inspirational Christian writer. Your books are more than just books, they are an example of how we should live our life!
