I started this book in the evening and did not put it down until I had read the whole book. It kept me guessing about the outcome for quite a while. The Biblical quotes and prayers are helpful reminders that God is always with us no matter our circumstances. I enjoyed this book and have liked everything I have read by the author T.K. Chapin. This is one of if not my favorite so far.I enjoyed the arrangement of chapters by the voice of the characters. This kept the suspense high and the story of Elizabeth and Lilly easy to follow.

This story revolves around a family broken and separated by divorce. Bruce, the father, remains in Lincoln City, OR. The mother (Elizabeth) and the children (Lily and Jordan) move to Spokane, WA. Both Lily and Jordan are distraught over both the divorce and the move. Lily is also very emotional and upset because she has to leave her boyfriend, Marcus, back in Lincoln City. These issues cause stained relationships especially between Lily and her mom.Once the move is complete, Jordan becomes friends with a boy next door (Brock). They hang out and do a great deal of gaming together. Lily, on the other hand, remains very emotional and upset; thus blaming her mom for everything that has happened. At a 4th of July party, Elizabeth finds out Lily is not who she is supposed to be with nor where she is supposed to be. No one has seen her. Under the circumstances, the police just consider it a teenage runaway. Elizabeth and a friend (Cole) begin following up on leads and doing their own investigation. Has Lily run away? Has she been kidnapped? Will she be found alive?”If Only” is an excellent book. It is not the typical book we normally see from Mr. Chapin. It is still a Christian novel, and there is some romance thrown in; but there is much more suspense in it. There are also lessons to be learned about parent-teenager relationships, forgiveness, and how to rely on God when you are going through difficult situations. It is very inspirational, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I have personally read all of Mr Chapin’s books; and this is, by far, my favorite! Thank you, Mr. Chapin, for such a fantastic page turner! This book was provided to me for free because I nominated it on Kindle Scout, and it was chosen for publication by Kindle Press. Congratulations Mr chapin! For the free book, I was to write a fair and honest review. All views and opinions expressed here are strictly that of the reader. No monetary compensation was received for this review. It was an honor and a privilege to read this book and provide a review!

Love this book! The plot begins with a broken family and a runaway daughter. The story has two points of view, the mother’s and the daughtes’s. Seeing both sides just shows how we minunderstand people’s motives and actions. The book has lots of emotional tension to keep pages turning. The end was a total surprise. Will look for other books by T. K. Chaplin.

This was my first read by T K Chapin and i was not disappointed. This story is compelling, has you on the edge of your seat, you feel the despair, the pain and the desperation. As a mom, it tugged at my heartstrings. And there is also suspense and a very surprising twist. I love how through it all, they clung to scripture and faith. When their faith in God was tested, they found the strength to cling to Him. I loved this story!

IF ONLY by T K Chapin. A powerful story of a young girl, not yet 18, whose world is turned up side down. Her real dad is dead, her step father and mother divorced. But why did they have to move, she had to leave Marcus, the love of her life. She has a friend Jess, who she goes to see, and now she is missing. Cops think it’s another runaway. How can Lilly’s Mom except this, with little clues to go by. One clue takes her mom and a friend to the homeless area. The words vibrate in her mind ” my daughter can’t beliving under a bridge and with the homeless.” The hope and dispare, are well done, as the chapters give you insight of what the Mother / Elizabeth and then the daughter/Lilly are thinking. One has an insight, but one really doesn’t grasp, what helplessness a parent goes thru, when one of their children runaway. What the outcome is, will change all that was involved”If only one knew then, what they knew now.”Another great story, that one will remember, glad I had the chance to read. Will be enjoyable for all to read.

How many of us look at the past and think: “If only….”? Maybe we don’t think about it in exactly that manner but we still can see those choices and decisions we made and wonder what results a different decision might have made. This story has a good helping of “if onlys”. The mother especially is plagued by second guessing her past decisions and struggles with her current dilemma. Alternating from the mother to the daughter, the author presents the story as it unfolds from the mother’s current perspective to the daughter’s perspective starting a year earlier when they moved from their home. The story is laced with suspense as the events unfold. The surprises seem to be waiting around every turn. I enjoyed the story and recommend it for the lessons about healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt it spoke volumes about the depths a mother will go to for her child, even after it all seems hopeless. It addressed the turmoil associated with divorce, from the POV of a parent and the children; and how the angst caused by divorce can have far ranging repercussions which could lead to such poor choices in children as running away or having pre-marital sex in search of affection to replace that of the missing parent. I felt the resolution was a bit of a surprise as well, but I will not discuss it more to avoid spoilers.
